The attorneys at Ashton Horton Mullins PC all have strong trial and litigation backgrounds. We are uniquely prepared to assist clients with the most complicated family law scenarios such as: death during divorce, divorce and incapacity, divorce and Medicaid, and divorce with special needs children. We pride ourselves in helping our clients decide when a strong litigation response is in their best interest and when calm de-escalation and problem solving is the better path to reach their goals. We are familiar with how emotionally exhausting and stressful divorce, custody, incapacity, and post-death conflict can be for families going through those experiences. We treat all of our clients with the compassion, comfort, and dignity they deserve when going through the hardest times of life.
We are also all parents and step-parents who know how important planning for the well-being of families can be. A little planning can save a lot of future heartache, and we want our clients to know that we are listening and brainstorming with them. We work with our clients to create holistic estate plans including Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney (or Living Wills), Transfer on Death Deeds, beneficiary designations, and other tools to take care of families during their lives and after their deaths.
We take responsibility in our role to educate clients and provide resources for each of our practice areas. We love talking to the parents of children with special needs and disabilities about special needs trusts, ABLE accounts, public benefits, and independence measures. We are happy to sit down with you and brainstorm issues that range from how to make sure Mom is safe and her care is paid for, to how to convince Dad to stop driving, and everything in between. We encourage our clients who are considering marriage or divorce to educate themselves on community and separate property considerations.
Ashton Horton Mullins PC provides a full range of settlement facilitation and mediation services in both English and Spanish.
